CFS offers flooring sourced from multiple manufacturers. There is no single warranty that applies to every product on the Site. Written warranties may differ by manufacturer, product, lot, intended residential or commercial use, installation conditions and maintenance requirements.
Which warranty applies?
If a manufacturer offers a written product warranty, that manufacturer’s product-specific written warranty, applicable to the exact goods and intended use, sets the warranty term, warrantor, exclusions, installation/acclimation/subfloor and moisture conditions, maintenance obligations, inspection procedure and available remedies. Product category, wear-layer thickness, sample appearance or the CFS collection name alone do not establish warranty coverage.
Coverage before purchase
For products sold to consumers with applicable written warranties, warranty terms must be made available before the sale as required by law. Product-specific manufacturer documentation should be supplied or clearly obtainable before CFS accepts the formal purchase. Contact us if the exact applicable warranty is not displayed; do not assume a brochure or a different collection’s warranty applies.
Obtaining the right warranty document
Ask CFS for the current manufacturer warranty applicable to your specific flooring before accepting the final formal quote if it is not supplied with the product information. We will assist in locating product-specific warranty literature and confirming the correct document for the goods being offered. Public product display does not independently create or extend a manufacturer warranty.
What is not automatically promised
A manufacturer warranty may or may not cover labor, removal, reinstallations, freight, consequential loss or a particular commercial application. CFS does not guarantee those benefits or the outcome of a warranty claim merely by helping with paperwork. Any separate warranty made by CFS must be expressly stated in an approved written agreement. Nothing here limits implied warranties, consumer protections, safety obligations or other legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Reporting an issue
If material appears damaged or defective, where feasible stop installation on the affected material and preserve evidence. Retain the product name, photos, carton/lot labels, original shipping records, quote and purchase references, and descriptions of job-site and installation conditions. Contact CFS promptly so the applicable manufacturer or carrier procedure can be identified. Do not assume that installation automatically eliminates all rights; the governing warranty and applicable law control.
Claims assistance
CFS can assist with manufacturer and carrier contacts and the documentation process. A final remedy, reimbursement or timetable must be confirmed under the applicable warranty and any written transaction terms. Read our Claims Policy and Shipping & Receiving Policy.
