Home, multifamily, hospitality, office and retail spaces can place different demands on the flooring and installation system.
Floating rigid core and fully bonded LVP solve different substrate, replacement, rolling-load and scheduling problems.
Wear layer matters, but it is one part of the specification. Compare the complete product, warranty and approved application.
Total thickness, core, attached pad, plank size and edge system all affect the finished floor.
Evaluate the plank/core claim separately from the installed room and substrate details.
LVP stands for luxury vinyl plank. It is resilient vinyl flooring made in plank formats, usually with a wood-look visual. Depending on the product, LVP may be a flexible glue-down construction or a rigid-core click product such as SPC or WPC.
The important distinction is that “LVP” describes a broad flooring family—not one universal construction. Use the product data sheet to confirm the core, total thickness, wear layer, installation method, approved application and warranty.

Many SPC and vinyl products use material constructions that do not absorb topical water like a traditional wood-fiber core. That is useful—but it is not the same as saying the entire installed floor is a waterproof membrane.
Locking joints, perimeter gaps, penetrations, transitions, substrate conditions and manufacturer instructions still matter. CFS keeps the product claim and the installed-room claim separate so buyers can make a better decision.

Click-lock rigid-core construction for fast product selection and broad residential/commercial use where the product and assembly fit.

Compare SPC vs WPC →Google's search results surface both retailer claims and skeptical “what nobody tells you” content. Buyers deserve both sides before they order.
Neither wins every room. The right choice depends on moisture risk, construction, installation, appearance and product rating.
Measure the project, add a realistic waste allowance for the layout, then round up to full cartons. The calculator uses current stocked-product pricing and carton coverage so you can see the buying math instead of a generic national cost range.

The broad LVP page helps anyone compare and buy the category. Commercial buyers often need more: project documentation, commercial-use approvals, substrate and rolling-load considerations, professional account pricing and larger-quantity review.

CFS connects material discovery with the contractor marketplace. Browse flooring contractors by market or submit a flooring project when you need installation support.
Start with the actual room conditions instead of a generic “best” list. Note the subfloor, moisture exposure, floor level, transitions, sunlight, rolling traffic, pets or furniture, maintenance expectations and whether the space must stay occupied during installation. Then compare products that are approved for those conditions.
For click products, confirm expansion requirements, room dimensions, transition rules and whether the attached pad is part of the selected construction. For bonded products, preparation and adhesive compatibility become part of the system. In either case, the product image is only the beginning: plank size, edge detail, embossing, finish, warranty and replacement strategy influence the final choice.
Physical samples are useful for color and texture, but they do not replace the technical data. Use the sample to narrow the visual direction and the current product documents to confirm the project fit.

Stocked products keep published pricing visible. Approved professionals can access CFS Pro account pricing after sign-in. Qualifying projects beginning at 18,000+ sq ft can request separate project / volume review.
